There is a really terrible band with a really awful song named "Ohio is for lovers". I always thought it was an moronic name, for an idiotic place. Than my sister moved there...
For four years I sat here nestled in the far west silently avoiding the nagging voice in my head to trek to the northern Midwest to see her.
Than I married Brooke, and I realized that Brooke has never really spent time with my sister who lives in Ohio. I also realized that I really wanted to see Kirtland, Ohio. I also realized that I had a niece and two nephews who I missed mucho terriblay. So Brooke and I decided to go to Ohio.
I won't diverse and broad fan base of readers with our details of the trip, I'll just say that it was nice to go there. It was nice to see my sister happy and to spend time with her incredibly cute and totally awesome kids.
It was amazing to see Kirtland and to be able to transport myself back in time, to have a very minimal understand of what life was like for those pioneering members of the church. It was inspiring to sit in the room up stairs in the Newel K. Whitney Store where the school of the prophets convened. It was an incredible experience to see the Kirtland temple, and to realize all the events that took place where we were standing and walking...
BUT ENOUGH CHURCHINESS - (that's right I said "churchiness")
Spending with my sister and her family made me realize how much I miss them and how grateful I am to have had the opportunity to visit her.
It also made me grateful for all four of my sisters, two of my own, and two awesome sisters (soon to be three) I inherited when I married Brooke.
Everyone of you gals makes our lives better.
So I want to take one moment and tell my sisters how much I love 'em. I also wanted to tell my sister in far away Ohio that I miss her terribly but I promise I will do my best to find more opportunities to see her, so I don't miss her quite as much.
