Baby-names.

Brooke picked some ideas for baby names by looking at her genealogy today. Here are baby names I think our kids should have.

10. Boba Fett, Bob for short.Who wouldn't want their first born named after the galaxies most dangerous bounty hunter?

9. Shazam, Shaz for short. Shazam is an acronym used by the DC Comics superhero Captain Marvel also called "Shazam". The acronym stands for...
-The wisdome of Solomn
-The strength of Hercules
-The stamina of Atlas
-The power of Zeus
-The courage of Achilles
-The speed of Mercury
Now that is a name!

8. Rodeo Jones, named after the Sunny Day Real Estate song. Although if you name your boy this there is a fifty-fifty chance his preferential pendulum might swing in the opposite direction.

7. Mahonri Moriancumer, this is the name you use when you want to prove to your neighbors that you're more Mormony they are.

6. Yojimbo, the Samurai who was inspired by one of my favorite Dashielle Hammett tales, "Red Harvest" and in turn inspired the movie a Fist full of dollars. Who couldn't love this name?

5. Thor, who wouldn't want to name their child after the Norse God of Thunder. The reason being three-fold...A.) Norse B.) God C.) of Thunder!

4. Ulysses! This name is a "win, win, win" situation. 1) This is the name given to the title of the book by James Joyce (one of the lost generations greatest authors, not to mention he was Irish and wore an eye patch...AVAST MATEYS!) and is considered by many to be the best book of the 20th Century. (Of course Twilight will be the the 21st centuries greatest fictional contribution).
2) The 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant also bore this name. Grant also known for his contributions to the Union victory of the Confederates during the Civil War, and don't forget he was a belligerent drunk!
3) The name given to the Romans version of Odysseus. Who wouldn't want to name their son after a guy who ended up getting lost for ten years on the boat ride from Troy back to Ithaca (it's like 500 miles to walk there.)

Actually Ulysses was a pretty rockin' fellar! Just ask the cyclops he blinded with a hot poker.

3. Solomon, it's amazing to me with all the Biblical names going around these days like David, Joseph, Moses, and Bathsheba that no one has thought about naming their kid after the ever wise King Solomon.

2. Forever...How awesome to hear your teacher when ever she calls roll she remarks, "Forever Young".

1. Jefferson...Why not, it's like my name and it's also the name of one of the greatest memorials in this country. I guess old Prez Jefferson was ah-ight himself.

  1. Forever Young is my top pick. But I think you are right about Ulysses and Solomon too. Looks like you are planning on all boys?
